This project included two large single-face illuminated cabinet wall signs designed to improve visibility, strengthen exterior branding, and help customers easily identify the storage facility from nearby streets and approaches.

Project Overview

The completed signs measured approximately 7 feet 10 inches by 15 feet 11 inches, creating a bold branded presence on the building exterior. One sign anchors the north elevation facing SE 6th Street; the second anchors the west elevation facing SE 164th Avenue — covering both primary approaches to the facility.

Site Survey

Field measurements of both building elevations, verification of mounting conditions on the angled wall returns, and confirmation of available power and routing before design started.

Design

Scaled elevation drawings and sign-area calculations sized to the City of Vancouver wall-sign allowance for each elevation, with placement engineered for visibility from SE 6th Street and SE 164th Avenue approaches.

Fabrication

Both cabinets built in-house at our Tacoma shop. Fabricated aluminum body, 2.5" aluminum perimeter face retainer painted to match Pantone Sunflower 130 C, translucent white flexible face with first-surface vinyl and digital-print overlays for the logotype and copy. UL-listed assembly with internal white LED illumination and self-contained power supplies.

Permitting

We pulled the City of Vancouver sign permits for both wall signs, sized to fit within the 12% wall-sign area allowance for the Phase II building elevations.

Installation

Both cabinets mounted to the exterior building walls with mechanical fasteners appropriate to the wall type, hooked up to existing power, and tested for even face illumination across the full 191" × 94" sign area.
