2018 WSA Sign Design & Coolness Competition: Wall Sign Category
Plumb Signs took home 1st place in the Wall Sign category at WSA's Sign Design Competition during their annual meeting in New York City. Sign companies from across the country submitted their work from the past 24 months, with members voting to determine the best examples of applicable design, problem solving and use of materials.
About the Project: American Lake Conference Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord
The ALCC at Joint Base Lewis-McChord came to us with a signage request for something unique and creative enough to transition their bleak exterior into an attention grabbing illuminated welcome wall. Their customers were coming to them for a scenic experience and the signage needed to reflect that sentiment.
We worked at illuminating the scenic artwork with just enough layering that would allow the LED to come through without washing out the detail of the sign. It took a lot of collaboration between our designers and fabricators to create a final product that worked well during both day and night.
We chose to enter this wall sign into the WSA Sign Design and Coolness Competition because we felt it really captured the essence of the uniqueness, creativity and functionality that our team works to instill into each and every one of our sign projects. A lot of team members were involved from start to finish and from design and fabrication all the way through installation it really showcased our full portfolio of capabilities as a commercial sign shop.
